Elementary Programs


Look below to see the different programs that are available for your elementary school! All the shows are entertaining and educational, and combine magic, music, puppetry, live animals, and lots of humor and audience participation to reinforce the importance of reading and using the media center! Chad also brings his own sound system, controls his own music, and brings all the necessary props needed - you just supply the place to perform! The shows can be for assemblies during the day or for PTO or other activities as well! As a matter of fact, if you have one of Chad's programs during the day, you can then choose a different program for that evening for a PTA/Family Night event and guarantee a HUGE turnout! "The students really have responded to the books that you showed yesterday. They are going crazy over our magic books. I am out, out, out of magic books. It was a great way to promote nonfiction animal books also. You made the children feel that you really liked them and were having a good time performing for them. The kids loved the "magic" part of the program. The escape episode was a lot of fun, and snakes are always a hit with kids. Students and teachers alike have told us how much they enjoyed the program. Elementary Show #1

The "I Dream of Reading Extravaganza!"


(All New for the 2012-2013 School Year!)

Chad's all new "I Dream of Reading Extravaganza!" takes students alllllll the way back to the very beginning of Chad's journey to become a magical educator! Every year in every show Chad makes sure to show students the book that sparked his interest in magic. However, this year Chad will open up that book and show students the very first magic tricks that he ever learned - not only that, but Chad will also tell them the exact page numbers so they can go and read about the tricks themselves! As always, students will also see a live critter or two, hear some great storytelling, and learn about several different books about the different topics in the show. Book this program now for the 2012-2013 school year and let Chad show your students that READING makes DREAMS come TRUE!!!

Elementary Show #2

"Around the World with a Book!"


Comeand join the fun as Chad takes his audience around the world using books from the library, story telling, music, and magic! Chad's all new "Around the World with a Book" program will highlight the 2011 VRP theme of "One World, Many Stories" as he explores the origins of several classics of magic. As always, a critter or two will make an appearance along with a few brand new surprises! As always, Chad will emphasize that good readers can learn to do all kinds of things, meet all kinds of people, and go on all kinds of adventures!

Elementary Show #3

"Splash Into Reading Extravaganza!"


(Performed in almost 100 libraries during the summer of 2010!)

Chad's "Splash Into Reading" program is designed around the 2010 VRP theme of "Make a Splash @ Your Library!" The show features music, magic, storytelling, and books that have a connection to water, the ocean, sharks, and other "splashy" surprises! Also in the program is Cornbread the Corn Snake and Chad's almost world famous grand finale - the Straitjacket Escape of Doom! As always, Chad's program will emphasize that good readers can learn to do all kinds of things, meet all kinds of people, and go on all kinds of adventures!

Elementary Show #4

"The Creative Reading Extravaganza!"


Chad's "Creative Reading Extravaganza!" is designed around the "Be Creative" theme for the 2009 Summer Reading Program. The program will encourage kids to learn all about the Fine Arts by reading books on music, drawing/painting, dance, acting, playing an instrument, and even a little magic! Chad uses humor, magic, storytelling, and lots of audience participation to illustrate the different points of the program, that good readers can learn to do all kinds of things, meet all kinds of people, and go on all kinds of adventures! And, as always, there will be a few of Chad's famous live critters that will make a magical appearance or two, and Chad will once again perform his now almost world-famous straitjacket escape which is now even more difficult than ever before!

    Librarians -The summer of 2013 is now 99% booked up with Chad's new "Dig Into Reading!" program! If you haven't secured your date, you'd better hurry!

    Chad is excited to offer his brand new show for the 2013-2014 school year! The "Dig Into Reading Safari" for elementary schools and the "Once Upon a Time: Grimm's Fairy Tales" and "Nevermore: The Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe" for middle/high schools along with both versions of "Authors of Mystery and Horror."
