Elementary Show #2 The "Catch the Reading Bug Safari Show"
Chad's all new "Catch the Reading Bug Safari Show" is designed to fit the theme for the 2008 Vacation Reading Program and has been booked in almost 90 libraries for the summer of 2008! The show will then be available to schools during the 2008-2009 school year! This program features new routines as well as some new critters - including Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches and Giant African Millipedes! Some favorites are back as well including Cornbread the Cornsnake, Rocky the Ball Python, as well as the tarantula and scorpion! And as always students will be introduced to several books on each animal as well as be encouraged to use their local library to learn more! This program is a great way to have your students catch the reading bug! "Chad, we really enjoyed having you and I got such good feedback from parents, teachers, and students. I thought you did a great job encouraging reading through your magic and puppets. I love the way you brought in books during the show to integrate reading and science. Curriculum standards is such a big focus to get the students ready for testing. Anytime you can integrate that with reading in your show is great. My favorite part was the magic and the skunk. Stinky was precious. I would definitely recommend your show to other educators. It was fun, entertaining, and I really like the simple focus and repetition to promote reading. Thanks again and I hope we can have you back!" Susan Morris, Media Specialist, Guinyard Elementary "Your show was awesome and definitely encouraged our students to read. My favorite part (and probably the kids too) was seeing the teachers participate! I would absolutely recommend the show to others! It was wonderful!" Kristi Kee, Principal, Sanders Primary "The students really have responded to the books that you showed yesterday. They are going crazy over our magic books. I am out, out, out of magic books. It was a great way to promote nonfiction animal books also. You made the children feel that you really liked them and were having a good time performing for them. The kids loved the "magic" part of the program. The escape episode was a lot of fun, and snakes are always a hit with kids. Students and teachers alike have told us how much they enjoyed the program. It provided a wonderful reading incentive program for the beginning of the year. I think the kids wish you would come back tomorrow!" Ann Morris, Media Specialist, Caughman Road Elem. Elementary Show #3 "The Once Upon a Time Reading Show"
Chad's "Once Upon a Time Reading Show" has been seen in over 70 libraries during the 2006 Vacation Reading Program and in schools all during the 2006-2007 school year! The show features "Sir Chadwick of the Boro" as the magical storyteller who takes students on a journey to a land far away, where wizards and knights battle to rule the land by using their imagination. The show includes appearances by Chad's ball python and his two white doves as well. Most importantly, the program showcases many children's books and stories, and encourages students to read and visit their local libraries. The students will also learn information about obtaining and using a library card at their local library. Finally, Chad guarantees that you students will remember the three things that all good readers have in common: Good readers learn all kinds of things, meet all kinds of people, and go on all kinds of adventures! ***Click here to see what others are saying about the show!*** ***Click here to see a video clip of the show from an elementary school performance***
